A gentle two-week liver-reset routine
A calm, habit-based two-week routine to support how you feel: more water and plants, less alcohol, better sleep. General information only.

The word “detox” is often attached to extreme juice fasts and bold promises. We prefer a quieter idea. Your liver works around the clock on your behalf, and the kindest thing most of us can do is simply give it a supportive environment. This gentle, two-week routine focuses on everyday habits rather than restriction.
Please read this as general information, not medical advice. If you have a liver condition, take medication, drink heavily, are pregnant or nursing, or have any health concern, speak with your doctor before changing your routine.
Why “gentle” matters
Very restrictive cleanses can leave people tired, hungry and quick to slip back into old patterns. A gentle reset aims for the opposite: small changes that feel good enough to keep. Think of it as clearing some space — fewer late nights and extras, more water, plants and rest.
Week one: clear some space
1. Pause alcohol
Taking a two-week break from alcohol is one of the most straightforward changes you can make. Many people find they sleep better and feel clearer. Sparkling water with citrus, rooibos iced tea or a herbal infusion make lovely evening rituals instead.
2. Drink water through the day
Keep a glass or bottle within reach and sip regularly. Starting the morning with a glass of water, perhaps with a slice of lemon, is a simple anchor for the day.
3. Fill half your plate with plants
Aim for vegetables at lunch and dinner, especially leafy greens and crucifers such as broccoli, cabbage, rocket and cauliflower. Add herbs generously: parsley, coriander, mint and rosemary bring flavour and colour.
4. Ease off ultra-processed food
You do not need to be perfect. Try swapping one packaged snack a day for fruit, nuts, yoghurt or a slice of wholegrain toast with a little honey.
Week two: build the rhythm
5. Close the kitchen earlier
Finishing your last meal two to three hours before bed gives digestion a rest and often helps sleep. A cup of caffeine-free herbal tea can mark the end of the eating day.
6. Add fibre steadily
Legumes, oats, seeds and whole grains support regular digestion. Increase them gradually and drink enough water as you do.
7. Move every day
A brisk 20–30 minute walk, a bike ride or a gentle yoga session all count. Movement supports overall wellbeing and is easier to keep up when it is enjoyable.
8. Protect your sleep
Aim for a consistent bedtime, dim lights in the evening and keep screens out of the bedroom where possible. Rest is when the body does much of its quiet maintenance.
A sample gentle day
- Morning: a glass of water, then oats with berries, seeds and a little fynbos honey
- Midday: a big salad with leafy greens, roasted vegetables, chickpeas and an olive-oil-and-lemon dressing
- Afternoon: a walk outside and a piece of fruit
- Evening: grilled fish or lentils with steamed broccoli and herbs; herbal tea afterwards
- Night: lights low, phone away, early to bed
Where nutrition support fits
Some people like a little more structure alongside these habits, such as a simple meal plan or a check-in with a dietitian. If you are curious, we are happy to talk through what might suit you — without any pressure. Supplements are designed to complement, not replace, a balanced diet and healthy lifestyle.
After the two weeks
Notice what felt good and keep it. Perhaps it was the earlier dinners, the evening walks or simply drinking more water. A reset is most valuable when a few of its habits quietly become part of everyday life.
